Oh, hello. My name’s Jacob O’Gara, and I’m a senior journalism student. I come to the University of Oregon all the way from Portland, Oregon (well, Lake Oswego). I’m a writer, a curmudgeon (look at the bow-tie), a flaneur. I drink too much coffee and don’t get enough sleep. I have a fetish for print journalism and I adore rap music. Style and other superficial things are important to me because I don’t think they are superficial: both Oscar Wilde and Gore Vidal have said that the best philosophy of life is to be serious about amusing things and amusing about serious things, and I’ve chosen to follow that philosophy. Then again, what do they know–they didn’t even have Twitter accounts. I do: @ogarajacob. And here’s my Web site, such as it is. Thanks for reading.
